The Temperamentals had its first preview last night!
If you’re into seeing Vincente Minelli (not pictured) as a representation of all closeted ‘50’s celebrities, come see The Temperamentals! He’s sassy (and kind of a dick) (and also a little weird).
Hey Boston! Come see the show I’m currently working on, The Temperamentals! It is about the first gay activists in the US who founded the Mattachine Society in the early 50’s.
If that doesn’t grab you, just know that the cast is super attractive and there is a lot of shirtlessness.

This show has been pretty stressful for me - the sheer number of props are a pain, never mind the smoking onstage, multiple food props that can’t be found in stores, an onstage fight with blood, broken glass onstage, some props broken onstage, major set changes done during a “light shift,” and the set is painted onstage during a monologue.
BUT! All of that becomes completely worth it when you hear the audience reactions (from horrified gasps to raucous laughter) while waiting for a cue backstage.
